Green tree frog

Litoria caerulea

The green tree frog has a very characteritical look with a mouth shaped to a constant smile. The species can be 16 years old, which is old for a frog.


Length: 7 - 11 cm

The green tree frog is native to Australia, New Guinea and Indonesia.  It is well suited to live near human dwellings and are often found near or inside houses, eating insects. The green tree frog screams when it is in danger to scare off its foe, and squeaks when it is touched.
