He is two weeks old by now, the little Amur tiger cub that was born Oct 30th at Nordens Ark. So far, he’s safely tucked away in the den with his mother, and it will take some time before he starts exploring the world.

It is a long-awaited cub. The Amur tigers on Nordens Ark have both come of age a bit and with age the probability of successful reproductions decreases. Both the female and the male are genetically valuable so this cub is especially precious.

This year's cub is an important part of the conservation program and he will remain at Nordens Ark as our new breeding male.
