New tarantulas move in

Now five new Gooty sapphire tarantulas have arrived at Nordens Ark. The beautiful, but poisonous spiders are critically endangered and are part of Nordens Ark's work to save endangered animals. The first tarantula, a female, has now been joined by five new spiders.

It is still too early to determine how many of the newly arrived spiders are females and males, but it will become clearer in a few months when they have shed skins and become a little larger.

As a visitor, you will be able to see the spiders from the beginning of June when the new house at the Wetlands is inaugurated.
