We're building for the future

The work to save endangered species is as vital today as it was when Nordens Ark opened in 1989. We’re developing and adapting our business to the needs that exist today for both our animals and our visitors.

In September 2022 we're starting an exciting project that will mean that the furthest parts of the park will be closed.

It is important that we do this now, and we thank you for your patience and understanding while the work is under way.

Phase 1 is now finished!

In June 2023, the new Turtle house at the Wetland was inaugurated. It's a unique facility which holds some of the world's most threatened turtle species.

During the following phase of the project, the furthest part of the park will be closed and you as a visitor will not be able to see wolverine or Scottish wildcat in the park.

We are now finished with the TurtleArk and we're now looking into the next step, which is developing the area further into the park.

It is important that we do this now, and we thank you for your patience and understanding while the work is under way.
