Mammals
At the zoo you’ll find large and small mammals. We have everything from ground squirrels to the world’s largest cat, the Amur tiger. We also have Swedish mammals such as wolverine, lynx and reindeer.
There are mammals that are active during the day, at dawn, during the night and mammals that aren’t specialized for a particular time of day. There are major differences in terms of social behavior between mammals. Some mammals live alone almost their entire life and others who live in large flocks. There is a clear hierarchy within the group among many mammals and there are different ways to communicate for example trough sounds, grimaces and postures.
Most mammals give birth to fully developed offspring and the parents take active care of them for many years.
